This is the login page for the Aqua Connect web site. If you have an existing account you can log into the web site from here. If you have an existing account but have forgotten your password and/or your username then select Trouble Signing In? and you will receive an email with your missing information. Finally, if you do not have an account but wish to create one, select Check for free trial or to activate account. Sign up today! to begin the process of creating a new account.

Forgot Password

If you have forgotten your password and/or your username, but remember the primary email address associated with your account, then complete this page and select Password Request. This will cause your username and password to be emailed to the primary email address, allowing you to log onto the web site.

Register Account

This is the page where you create a new account from scratch. You will be able to modify all of the information on this page at a later time, EXCEPT for the username. Once you select a username it is yours forever.

Note that your username must be unique; if you pick a username that is already active an error message will be generated and you will be forced to select a different username. You will keep generating error messages until you select a unique username. All fields in bold must be filled out before the account can be created. Note that you will have to re-enter your password after every error message – even if the error message has nothing to do with your password.

A note about Account Description: The Account Description is intended to give a detailed description of the business or person behind the account. For example, if you are a pool service company your Account Description could be "Dave's Pool Service LLC”. This will appear as a heading on all of the pages of the web site when you log onto your account. You must enter something in the Account Description field.

Account Units

The Site Listing page is the Home page for any login account that has access to multiple pools. The Site Listing page allows you to choose which pool you want to monitor and/or control. For login accounts with access to only one pool you will automatically bypass this page and go to the Dashboard page for the one pool.

An Overview of the Dashboard

The Dashboard is a pool specific page, the primary performance monitoring page for each pool. The Dashboard does not allow the control of the pool, but it displays many performance indicators simultaneously. The left hand side of the page is a column of web site navigation buttons, the same "left navigation buttons" that appear on the Remote Control page.

The Dashboard page is used to monitor your pool. This information is also available on the Remote Control page, but you would have to look for it in a variety of places in the menu structure or wait for it to appear on the LCD display. On the Dashboard all of the information is up there and displayed simultaneously. We will go through the different sections of the Dashboard page individually.

Heater Settings, Water Temps

This section tells you everything about water temperature, filter status, and heater setup and status. Heater Settings, Water Temps is only present for a Pro Logic pool controller and is subdivided into 3 fields:

Heater Status:

There are 3 possible heat sources supported by the Pro Logic pool controller (two heaters plus Solar). If a heat source is enabled in the Pro Logic Configuration Menu then a status LED for that heat source will appear in the Heater Status field, next to text that identifies the LED. When the LED is on (bright green) then the heat source is active.

Note that the heat sources are color coded: Light blue corresponds to Heater1, red corresponds to Heater2, and yellow corresponds to Solar. Heater1, Heater2, and Solar are the default names for the 3 heat sources. It is possible to rename the Heater1 and Heater2 buttons on the Remote Control page; when these buttons are renamed on the Remote Control page, the new names will also appear in the Heater Status field. This button renaming feature is not available on all pool controllers.

Pool:

The Pool section gives the status of the pool. In a Pool Only or Pool & Spa Dual Equipment configuration the Pool section will ALWAYS be present. In a Pool & Spa Std configuration the Pool section will be present when the filter is connected to the pool, or if spillover is possible and the system is in spillover mode. The status of the pool filter (pump) is displayed (High / Low / Cooldown / Off).

The water temperature is also displayed. Note that the water temperature can only be read accurately when there is water flowing past the sensor. So if the filter is in any state other than Off, an accurate water temperature is available and will be displayed. When the filter is Off, the last valid water temperature will continue to be displayed for a few hours, but the water temperature value will eventually switch to “n/a” and remain there until the filter turns back on.

The water temperature is displayed 2 ways: Numerically and also using a needle on a half round dial. When the numerical water temperature display is “n/a”, the needle will disappear. The set points of every heater that can be connected to the pool are also shown. A color coded triangle (same color code as for Heater Status) appears on the dial and color coded text appears above the dial. Set points are always valid (even when the filter is off).

Spa:

This section gives the status of the spa. In a Spa Only or Pool & Spa Dual Equipment configuration the Spa section will ALWAYS be present. In a Pool & Spa Std configuration then the Spa section will be present only when the filter is connected to the spa. The status of the filter (pump) is displayed (High / Low / Cooldown / Off).

So if the filter is in any state other than Off, an accurate water temperature is available and will be displayed. When the filter is Off, the last valid water temperature will continue to be displayed for a few hours, but the water temperature value will eventually switch to “n/a” and remain there until the filter turns back on.

Pool / Spa / Spillover Status plus Air and Solar Temperatures

To the left of Heater Settings, Water Temps are two temperatures and the current Pool / Spa / Spillover status. The two temperatures are the air temperature (always present and valid) and the solar temperature (present if solar is enabled). The solar temperature is the temperature of the water in the solar collectors. The solar temperature can only be read accurately when there is water flowing past the sensor. So if the filter is in any state other than Off, an accurate solar temperature is available and will be displayed. When the filter is Off, the solar temperature becomes “n/a”.

Pool / Spa / Spillover Status is most important if you have a Pool & Spa Std configuration (a pool and a spa sharing a single pump, possibly including spillover from the spa to the pool). This status tells you where and how the pump is currently connected – the current operating mode of the pool. Depending on the pool configuration, some pools will only have one option (Pool), others only two options (Pool or Spa). For a dual equipment configuration the two options are Pool or Spillover.

Sense & Dispense – Pool Water Quality

This field is subdivided into 4 sections: Survey, pH, ORP, and Balance. This field provides data on your pool chemistry and will only appear if your pool controller has some form of pool chemistry enabled (pH control and/or ORP control).

Survey: This section displays 3 values from your most up to date pool survey. These values are only accurate for a limited period of time, after which the survey must be repeated. When a value is no longer accurate it is displayed as “n/a”. The top value is Hardness (Calcium Hardness), an indication of the amount of Calcium in your pool. This value is used in the water balance computation. The next value is Alkalinity (Total Alkalinity), an indication of the ability of the pool water to buffer pH changes. This value is also used in the water balance computation. The final value is Stabilizer (also known as Cyanuric Acid). Stabilizer is used to buffer chlorine from the effects of ultraviolet light. For an outdoor pool, sunlight tends to destroy the chlorine. Stabilizer blocks this. For an indoor pool, stabilizer may be unnecessary.

pH: pH is the classic measure of the acidity / alkalinity of your pool on a scale from 0 – 14. The working pH of a swimming pool is a far narrower range centered at 7.5. The pH reading is available from the pool controller when chemistry sensing is installed. The pH sensor used will only return an accurate value when there is water flowing past the sensor. So if the filter is in any state other than Off an accurate pH reading will be displayed. When the filter is Off, the last valid pH reading will continue to be displayed for a few hours, but the pH reading will eventually switch to “n/a” and remain there until the filter turns back on. The pH reading is used in the water balance computation. The pH reading is displayed 2 ways: Numerically and also using a needle on a half round dial. When the numerical pH reading is “n/a”, the needle will disappear.

ORP: ORP, or Oxidation Reduction Potential, is a measure of the sanitizing effect of the chlorine in your pool water. If the ORP is too low then bacteria can grow in your pool; if the ORP is too high then your eyes will be irritated. ORP is related to the free chlorine reading that you can determine using a pool test kit, but it is not the same. ORP can be directly measured using electronic sensors, so it is used instead of free chlorine. The ORP sensor used will only return an accurate value when there is water flowing past the sensor. So if the filter is in any state other than Off an accurate ORP reading will be displayed. When the filter is Off, the last valid ORP reading will continue to be displayed for a few hours, but the ORP reading will eventually switch to “n/a” and remain there until the filter turns back on. The correlation between free chlorine and ORP depends on the chemistry of your pool. You need to determine this correlation before you select an ORP setpoint.

Balance: The final dial is the water balance, sometimes known as the Langolier Saturation Index. This is a measure of the water quality of your pool that takes into consideration the pH, the water temperature, the Calcium Hardness, and the Total Alkalinity, and the Stabilizer level. The water balance is 0 for a perfectly balanced pool. Any number between -0.5 and 0.5 is considered good. For values outside of this range the pool water is potentially damaging to the pool / pool equipment (at least over the long term) and is not optimum for bathing in. The most significant contributor to water balance is the pH. The green region of the water balance dial is from -0.5 to 0.5 (fixed); when the water balance needle is within the green region of the dial, the numerical water balance will be displayed as blue text on a white background. When the water balance needle is outside of the green region of the dial then water balance is in an alarm condition and the numerical water balance will be displayed as white text on a red background. The pH and water temperature values that are used to compute the water balance are only valid when there is water flowing past the pH and temperature sensors. Further, the Calcium Hardness and Total Alkalinity readings from the Pool Survey have an expiration date. So if the pool filter is in any state other than Off and the Calcium Hardness and Total Alkalinity readings are still valid, then an accurate water balance reading will be displayed. When the pool filter is Off, the last valid pH and temperature readings will continue to be displayed for a few hours so that the water balance reading can continue to be displayed. The water balance reading will eventually switch to “n/a” and remain there until the pool filter turns back on. Also, if the Calcium Hardness and Total Alkalinity readings from the Pool Survey expire then the water balance reading will display “n/a” regardless of the state of the pool filter.

Alarm Display

At the bottom of the page is the “Active Alarm” display. If there are any active alarms they will be noted here, one entry per alarm. Each alarm is a hyperlink into an alarm help file that will provide additional information on the cause and the steps required to resolve the alarm. When alarms are cleared they are removed from the Active Alarm display.

Terminal Interface

The Remote Control page is a pool specific page that is designed to emulate a Goldline hardware terminal. This is the page where you control your pool. The left hand side of the page is a column of web site navigation buttons, the same "left navigation buttons" that appear on the Dashboard page. If your pool controller is a PS-8, then the Remote Control page will look like a PS-8 wireless and will function exactly like a PS-8 wireless with one exception: On the Remote Control page configuration menu unlock is achieved by clicking the simulated LCD display as if it were a button. The Remote Control page is used to control and monitor your pool and can do anything that a wireless remote control unit can do. This exception is present for all Pro Logic display configurations (P-4, PS-4, PS-8, and PS-16).

Unit History Graph

The Reading History page is a pool specific page that allows you to select two pool parameters from a list and graph them both over a specified period of time. This includes pH, ORP, and temperatures.

Unit Data

The Reading History Data page is a pool specific page that allows you to view historical data from your pool in a tabular format.

Pool Survey Form Overview

The Pool Survey Form is a generic form for entering manually recorded pool data (from a test kit) into the web site. The Pool Survey Form is completely independent of the automatically recorded sensor data (temperatures, pH, and ORP). The web site will save multiple pool surveys and will always use the latest, most up to date, survey. This form is where you enter the survey data; how you look up and view a previous survey will be covered elsewhere.

There are three pieces of data that are REQUIRED for water balance. All of the other data on the Pool Survey Form is optional. You must manually test and record the following in order to compute the water balance: Calcium Hardness (Hardness), Total Alkalinity (Alkalinity) and Stabilizer (sometimes called Cyanuric Acid). Most test strips will test all 3 of these (as well as other quantities) at the same time. These data points have an expiration date because they can change (slowly) over time. The Dashboard will use the latest available pool survey.

The expiration dates on the 3 required values are as follows:

Calcium Hardness	28 days
Total Alkalinity	14 days
Stabilizer	14 days

Since one test strip tests all 3 quantities, you should do a manual pool test and enter it into a new Pool Survey Form every 14 days. When you have entered all of the required data into the Pool Survey Form select Update at the bottom of the page. You should get a message that the survey has updated successfully. Now go to the top of the page and select Home to exit the survey form.

Unit Survey

On the Pool Surveys page is a table containing all of your pool surveys that are currently stored on the web site. The rightmost column contains a hyperlink that will allow you to view that survey.

You may just view a survey, or you may edit it. Although it is possible to edit any survey, it is highly recommended that you DO NOT edit older surveys. Create a new one instead. If, however, you just created a survey and you left out some required data, you may go back in and edit the survey to add the missing data.

Account Settings Page Overview

This is an account specific, not a pool specific page. This page allows you to change information relating to your account such as your password, Account Description, telephone number, address, and email address. You CANNOT change your User Name and you CANNOT change the access level of your own account. There are 4 fields on this page that will be discussed independently.

Password

Select the Change Password hyperlink within this field to change your password. When you change your password the change takes effect immediately. Even if you exit from the Account Settings page without saving any other changes, your password will have been changed.

Account Details

This section shows the current values for all of your account information. All of this can be changed except the User Name. To update this information select Save and Return at the bottom of the page.

Alarm Notifications

This section allows you to enter a list of email addresses that will receive alarm notification emails for this account. Any alarm, generated by any pool registered to this account, will cause an email to be sent to each of the email addresses on this list. You are allowed to enter new addresses and to delete existing addresses from the list. Any changes you make to the email list take effect immediately; even if you then exit from the Account Settings page without saving the changes they have already taken effect.

Account Management

If your account has sub-account privileges, this section will allow you to create one or more sub-accounts and to manage existing sub-accounts. Changes you make within these pages will happen immediately and will not depend on your returning to the Account Settings page and doing a save.

Create Sub-Account Page Overview

If your login account has sub-account privileges, then you use this page to create a new sub-account. Not all accounts have this privilege. The access level of the sub-account you create will be LOWER than the access level of your sub-account.

A sub-account is created to give another user access to one or more of the pools that are registered to your account. This could be a friend, a relative, a customer, a service provider, a spouse, a child, etc. You will select which pools can be accessed by the sub-account. You will also select whether the user has FULL ACCESS to a pool or READ ONLY access to a pool. This is determined on a pool by pool basis. So if you have 3 pools registered to your account, you could give the sub-account you are creating full access to one of the pools, read only access to a second pool, and no access to the third pool. Note that you are only doing part of the job on this page.

The two most common access levels for a sub-account are User and View Only. You should understand the difference between these two account types before you create the sub-account. There are TWO LEVELS of access control: Access is first controlled at the account level and then controlled again at the pool level. A User Account has the ability for full access. A View Only account can never have anything other than read only access. Read only access means that you are allowed to view the Dashboard, view the historical data, view the Pool Settings, and view the Remote Control, but you CANNOT change anything. You cannot turn on or off lights, filters, water features, etc. You can go through the menus on the Remote Control, but you cannot change configuration or setpoints. You can ONLY LOOK.

Creating the Sub-Account

The person that you create the sub-account for will have the ability to change the password and most of the other information, but NOT the User Name or the access level. You may want to consult the user before creating the account to see if they have a preferred User Name.

Enabling Access to the Pools

Pool access is NOT set on this page. It can only be set after the account is created on a pool by pool basis. At the Site Listing page, select each pool that you want to grant this sub-account access to. Then select Pool Settings from the Dashboard of that pool. At the bottom of the Pool Settings page select Pool Access. On the Pool Access page you will see a table containing all of the sub-accounts existing under your account, and the access level of that sub-account to this pool. You should see the newly created sub-account in this table, and the pool access level should be DISABLED. You can change it to READ ONLY or READ / WRITE. You must do the same thing for every pool that you want this sub-account to have access to.

Managing Sub-Account Page Overview

If your login account has sub-account privileges, then you use this page to manage existing sub-accounts. Not all login accounts have this privilege. The access level of the sub-accounts you manage MUST be lower than the access level of your account. This page displays a table of existing sub-accounts showing the Account Description, the account owner’s first and last names, and the user name. The Account Description entry is actually a hyperlink that will allow you to view the account information for this sub-account.

Register Unit

This page allows you to register a new pool to this login account. This will create a timed subscription for the new pool during which this account (and all designated sub-accounts) will have access to this pool. Except for the free trial subscription this process involves entering credit card information, having your credit card charged, and receiving a receipt. This page is the first step in the process.

Filling out the form

Select the desired subscription type. You are only allowed one free trial subscription per pool; after that you must pay to continue the service. If you select the free trial then you do NOT need to enter credit card information. For paid subscriptions you MUST enter your credit card information. At this time there is no other way of being charged.

Enter the MAC address, which you can find on the bottom label of the Aqua Connect Home Network gateway unit. The MAC address is 12 characters long; each character is either the digit 0 – 9 or the letters A – F. Do not enter spaces when entering the MAC address – just enter the 12 characters as they appear on the label.

Enter the Pool Name. If you have multiple pools registered to this login account you can use this field to provide a unique and meaningful name for this pool. For example, you may already have your own pool registered (Pool Name is “Our Backyard”) and you are now registering your parents pool because you are going to help them take care of it. You could use the pool name “Mom and Dad’s Pool”. This way, when you see a list of pools, it will be obvious to you what each pool is. For a pool service company, we recommend a Pool Name of the form “Johnson Pool, 1836 Lakeside Dr., Jupiter, FL” so that a list of pools will be a list of customer names and addresses.

Enter the address, the country, and the time zone for this pool. Then click on Add a Pool at the bottom. This will take you to a page where you can review what you have entered and make sure it is correct. From there you can click to submit and your credit card will be charged and a receipt will be displayed that you can print out.

Overview for the Pool Settings Page

This page gives all of the current information for a specific pool. There are two fields on this page: Unit Details and Site Settings.

Unit Details Field

This field shows the Pool Name and other information related to the pool itself, including the type of pool controller and the MAC address. Some of this information can be changed. After making the change or changes, go to the bottom of the page and select Update.

Site Settings Field

This field allows you to enable or disable certain individual alarms related to this pool only. It also allows you to change the alarm limits on certain other alarms. The alarms are displayed in alphabetical order. Most of this information can be changed. After making the change or changes, go to the bottom of the page and select Update.

Unit Access

This pool specific page allows you to determine which sub-accounts, assuming sub-accounts have been created, will have access to this pool. The first field on the page identifies the pool and the “owner” account. The second field contains a table with one entry for each existing sub-account. One of the columns of this table allows you to set the access level for that sub-account to this pool. Possible levels include No Access, Read Only, and Full Access. After changing the access level of one or more accounts, select Update at the bottom of the page. You can also select Create Account if you need to create a new sub-account.

Unit Log

This pool specific page provides a tabular view of the alarm history for this pool.

Unit Data

This pool specific page provides a tabular view of the data used on the Unit History / Graphing page. The table is displayed in a paged format; at the bottom of the displayed portion of the table is the current page number. This is a drop down box which can be used to select any page of the table; after selecting a new page click on the Refresh button on the bottom of the page.
